edible play dough

Yesterday I made play dough for Craig. Healthy and edible play dough that is just as cool as the stuff at Walmart. I found the recipe online via Pinterest. The original recipe called for 1/2 cup of sea salt-I used table salt.  The only sea salt I have is in a small hand grinder bought from Rose's for a buck. Don't worry the recipe still works..

 Edible Play Dough
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons cream of tar tar
1/2 cup salt (or sea salt)
1 cup water
2 tablespoons olive oil

  1. Mix the flour, salt, and cream of tar tar, together in a medium bowl.
  2. add the water to the flour mixture and mix until combined
  3. put the 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a medium to large non-stick skillet on the stove top on medium heat.
  4. pour the mixture into the skillet and mix with hot oil with a whisk or fork until it is the dough like consistency, fold on to wax paper and knead with flour a bit.. and thus its.. Play time!!
just after I put the dough on to the wax paper..
Craig ran into the living room and grabbed his plastic cookie cutter
Oh.. before I forget! You can color the dough using veggie and fruit juice.

hope you've enjoyed this post.. will try to post more often..
