One Sunny Day

This day was absolutely beautiful. I felt guilty staying indoors with the curtains blocking the sunlight. After trying a used pair of shoes on our baby boy, I gave up trying to shove his feet into the size four shoe. Eventually I found him a pair of size 5 shoes-though too big for his in-between size I tied the shoes and he attempted to walk the hugemongous shoes on. I let our two rat terriers out and proceeded to go outside. Craig (our ten month old baby boy) sat watching the dogs for 10min it seemed like. I was able to rake the leaves and move the dogs cages outside as he sat observing everything around him. The shoes lasted all of 5 mins before he managed to kick one off. I think the funniest thing I saw Craig do was try to eat a rock, I think he was thinking it was a cracker or cheese puff. But eaither way, it was funny.

My son is like any baby-he can get heavy after carrying him for a while. I decided to go take him downtown in a wrap-and-tie carrier. I always pass the antique stores, but I can never go in because of my stroller. I didn't carry a diaper bag or have a small purse. Nope. It was me, my son strapped in a carrier on me, a bag of snacks, car keys, my wristlet wallet, and the open sidewalk (because the road would be dangerous). I can't say how glad I was that I wore the skirt I did. Nor how grateful that I was that wore my converse shoes I bought at a yard sale for a buck last summer. Everywhere I walked into Craig was all smiles and flirting with the women-as he usually does. Today was pretty darn good. I had a day to ourselves, just Craig and I too hang out. Being a stay-at-home mom, there's a long list of to-dos and should-dos. But for 1 day, today..I said no to the never-ending pile of laundry and dishes, and I spent time with my son. God blessed us with a sunny, warm, and delightful day..I was not goinjg to let it escape us. So I think I siezed the day.

Tomorrow's adventure: Panera Bread and Goodwill with my best friend.. you better believe I'll blog about it.
